Unicist Family Business Strategies

Business-driven family companies and family-driven companies are highly conditioned by the family archetype of each culture and the solution given to the roles that this fulfills. In the cultures where the affective predominates over the economic and social role, families that have businesses are highly inefficient and are always at risk as they don’t stabilize as institutions (independently of their members).

In cultures where the roles are balanced, business-driven family companies and family-driven companies are distinct fundamentally for their capacity and speed of growth. Business-driven family companies grow more rapidly.

In cultures where the predominant roles in the family are social insertion and the economic role, families with companies have a powerful influence in the environment. Although structurally they have less capacity to grow, they compensate this with the influence exerted in the environment. In markets with imperfect competition they build very powerful empires.

When we are dealing with business-driven family companies we can state that they are more effective than family-driven companies in the active roles, which are hunting, where one goes out to seek the animal in the market, and agriculture where intensive activities are developed.

An efficiently organized business-driven family company is more effective in passive hunting where it works from the basis of the influence of the family brand, and passive agriculture where extensive is what counts.

Therefore each business-driven family company must know what market niche to occupy where it can best achieve results.

We want to highlight that in marginal markets with highly imperfect competition, these concepts have no effects in reality, which is managed by non-company relationships, where the family-driven company has the weight of the family in that society.

Scientific Breakthrough: the Unicist Ontology of Semiosis

The discovery of the Unicist Ontology of Semiosis allows developing “signs” as adaptive systems to produce predefined results.

The unicist ontological research led by Peter Belohlavek began in 2001 and integrated both the development of Peirce, based on logic, and Saussure, based on linguistics, to develop an approach to signs considered as complex adaptive systems to produce results.

As it is known, Charles S. Peirce structured the triadic nature of signs and Ferdinand de Saussure developed their dualistic operational structure.

As stated by this research, signs are cognitive objects, which are adaptive systems, driven by the need of communicating a predefined meaning based on the integration of a signifier and a signified.

Therefore, their functionality requires being measured in the mind of people and their behavior.

The structure that was discovered allowed defining the corresponding ontogenetic maps and algorithms transforming the abstraction of signs into a manageable object driven technology.

This breakthrough opens the frontiers for social communication in general and business communication in particular to influence markets, design products and other multiple uses. The final validation of this discovery was its use in business to develop three “Sales” laboratories.

Doers need to have conceptual knowledge

Human action is naturally driven by the concepts and fundamentals individuals have. These concepts and fundamentals provide the final picture of what wants to be done.

conceptsEveryone considers that s/he has the concept of what they are doing.

But the results of actions demonstrate that some of them really have the concept of what they are doing while others just think that they have it.

The difference is that they might have operational, functional or essential concepts, pre-concepts or anti-concepts of what they are doing.

The knowledge of operational concepts allows individuals to deal with static actions in which the environment does not require adaptive behaviors.

The knowledge of functional concepts drives maximal strategies that allow developing actions beyond the boundaries of a situation. They allow dealing with adaptive behaviors when the minimum strategies are given.

The knowledge of essential concepts allows developing adaptive actions, which include both the development of maximal and minimum strategies.

The use of pre-concepts helps to drive the actions that allow individuals to avoid personal risks.

The use of anti-concepts drives towards those actions, which appear to be functional, but destroy a concept. Anti-concepts work as such when the actual concept “bothers” the individual and he uses them to destroy the concept.

Analytical knowledge does not drive towards actions but it is functional to control actions. Analytic knowledge is based on a dualistic logical approach while conceptual knowledge is based on a double dialectical logical approach.

Value adding: the key for learning processes

Learning processes in adults require the existence of a real problem to be solved. When there is no real problem to be solved, the learning process has no substance and the “knowledge” cannot be stored in the long term memory because it is meaningless.

Learning processes are based on the need to increase the value added to the environment so as to gain a better adaptive position for an individual.

But a learning context is required before a learning process begins.

The unicist maximal strategy of a learning process is given by the need of improvement. The existence of a driver and the real need for improvement provides the will the individual “uses” as a catalyst in order to face and solve the problems of his/her learning process.

Achieving the minimum strategy implies paying the prices to ensure learning. The price to be paid is that the individual needs to leave things aside in order to access the comprehension of a new approach.

Learning implies leaving things aside. If the problem can be solved using the preexisting knowledge there is no need for learning because the problem does not exist. Therefore it is implicit in a learning process for unsolved problems that the individual leaves aside the preexisting approach and enters the comprehension of the new approach without cutting it down to what s/he knew.

Adults only do so when they really need to solve a problem. Improvement is the active function and learning the energy conservation function.

Only people who need to improve will be able to learn. People who enter in a learning process without having a real need to improve in order to solve real problems just enter in self-fulfilling activities.

The Unicist Approach for Growth

Businesses, by definition, happen in the future and it has to be considered that the past and the future are not symmetric.

The unicist approach uses both fundamental and technical analytical knowledge. It deals with the future using the unicist ontology based fundamentals.

Its unicist logic allows inferring the future to diagnose, build strategies, design architectures and build business objects.

The technical analytical tools are used to operate the businesses.

It has to be considered that unicist ontology based and object driven technologies have been developed to influence the future of businesses to make growth happen.

Unicist Turnkey Solutions for End-Users in Business

From August 2012 on, only turnkey solutions will be provided to end users in business. This implies that the unicist ontology based and objects driven technologies will be only provided to Corporate and Professional Partners. No technologies will be sold to end-users.

This implies that end-users only need to manage the operation of the business objects / business units / business processes that are installed.

The partners who participate in the development of solutions will have the Unicist Knowledge Object Manager, the Unicist Fact-book and the Centralized Quality Assurance Services available.

As the Unicist Confederation deals with the adaptive aspects of businesses, the core aspect is the definition of the actual possibilities of a business defined in its diagnoses. Therefore we recommend that you access the book on “The Unicist Standard for Ontological Business Diagnostics” at the Unicist Library:

Invitation to the Unicist Worldwide Movement

We launched today, on our 36th anniversary, the worldwide movement for the use of the unicist approach at a personal level. It has been named “Operation Momentum”.

As you know the unicist approach was a breakthrough that established a new starting point for personal and business strategies.

This worldwide movement implies the invitation to participate as a Guest of the Unicist Library giving access to this approach for personal use and the participation in corporate spin-offs.

Therefore we invite you to be our Guest in the Unicist Library at:

What is the Unicist Approach to Businesses about?

The purpose of the unicist approach is to influence the evolution of businesses by expanding their critical mass in the environment and organizing their processes using business objects.

At an operational level this approach increases the reliability of the operation and the quality delivered by a business.

When dealing with the adaptive aspects of businesses, the unicist approach allows introducing continuous improvement and catalyzes the growth in the markets.

The Unicist approach is implemented as spin-offs of the unicist technologies to build business units that drive the results to be produced. Market Labs are a typical example of these spin-offs.

The basic unicist technologies that sustain the unicist approach include:

1)      The ontogenetic maps of the functions that define the business processes.

2)      The object driven organization model.

3)      The necessary business objects to be installed.

4)      The cognitive objects to manage the fundamentals of the business.

The unicist approach is at the same time a breakthrough and a back to basic. It is a breakthrough because it is based on the discovery of the ontogenesis of evolution and it is a back to basics because it allows integrating the fundamentals of businesses with the technical analytical knowledge.

The Unicist Critical Mass Method

The Unicist Approach requires the use of critical masses in the adaptive business processes. A Unicist Critical Mass is the smallest amount of force that is needed to generate the integration of the elements of the unified field of a human complex adaptive system to produce results.

The Unicist Critical Mass Method (UCMM) is a design process that allows integrating the business architecture with the necessary synchronicity to be able to have a critical mass to add value and take advantage of opportunities. It requires a natural object driven organization with an adequate quality assurance process.

The quality assurance process that is included in the Critical Mass Method is based on having secure knowledge, on the use of destructive and non-destructive pilot tests to define the limits and validity of the solutions and on the existence of plans A, B, C and D to ensure results.

The UCMM is a strategic approach to define the processes established by the business architecture in a way that ensures the results to be achieved.

The UCMM is included in the Unicist Standards to manage adaptive systems.

Social Communities: The vehicle for cooperation

Communities are social entities integrated by people who share a differentiated entity that allows them to grow based on feeling valued and belonging to a superior group.

The building of a community requires having a superior ethics in some field, which implies centrally a differentiated functionality, a strict moral code, according to what is necessary to be done, and an adequate ideology that sustains the group.

All communities belong to a visible segment that makes them recognizable by the environment. Sects are extreme communities that foster a functionality that belongs to a parallel world.

Those who lead a community need to share its ethics. Their core responsibility is to expand it because they are convinced of the values they are adding to the environment.

The origin of Free Masons and the Rotary Club was being a community that belonged to the segment of “unions”.

Religious and political communities do not pertain to any of these categories although they are homologous.

When business communities exist, they belong to the Institutional or Avant-Garde segments. The first business community built by us was installed in Diners in 1981.
