Evidence of the Unicist Ontogenetic Logic and the Unicist Theory
This document presents the scientific evidence supporting the Unicist Ontogenetic Logic and the Unicist Theory, developed by Peter Belohlavek, to address adaptive systems. The objective behind the development of the Unicist Ontogenetic Logic and the Unicist Theory was to provide a structural solution for managing adaptive systems while considering their adaptive characteristics. Adaptive systems, among other features, have open boundaries and are integrated through the conjunction of their elements. In such systems, the concept of observers does not apply.
Research on complexa daptive system systems required the development of a new research methodology because the traditional scientific method proved inadequate for studying such systems. The lack of observers, the openness of boundaries, and the bi-univocal cause-effect relationships within the entities of an adaptive system highlighted the dysfunctionality of traditional scientific approaches in understanding the causality of adaptive systems. These systems, with their open boundaries, do not allow for external observers, as observers inherently become part of the system.
This challenge necessitated the creation of a new research approach that incorporated both destructive and non-destructive testing in real-world scenarios to validate knowledge. Traditional scientific papers are not suitable for adaptive environments in constant evolution, as falsification cannot be effectively applied.
The Unicist Research Methodology focuses on understanding the nature of adaptive systems, which are intrinsically complex and defined by their unicist ontology, and on forecasting their functional outcomes. Achieving accurate forecasts requires refining the functionalist structure until the expected results can be consistently predicted.
Unicist Ontogenetic Logic: Evidence
You can access the documents that deal with the functionality in physics, biology, and medicine that provide information on how the principles that underlie the unicist logic work in these fields:
In this document, you will find nine scientific pieces of evidence for the Unicist Ontogenetic Logic and Unicist Theory, which confirm their functionality and enable the management of adaptive systems. The initial evidence is defined by the functionality of atoms, as it pertains to the universality of physics. These pieces of evidence are:
- The functionality of atoms
- The functionality of amino acids
- The functionality of the curing principles in medicine
- The structure of biological entities
- The nervous system
- Similarity between natural and social objects
- Unicist concepts as stem cells
- Thinking processes and the functionality of electricity
- The expansion of the universe
Evidence I:
The Functionality of Atoms
The triadic functionality of atoms is defined by the roles of their components: protons establish the atom’s purpose by defining its identity (atomic number) and creating the positive charge that governs interactions. Electrons act as the active function, enabling adaptability and connectivity through bonding and energy exchange.
Neutrons ensure energy conservation by stabilizing the nucleus, counteracting proton repulsion, and maintaining atomic integrity. Together, they ensure the atom’s structure, stability, and functionality.
The triadic functionality of an atom can be described as follows:
1. Purpose: Protons
- Role: Protons define the identity of the atom. The number of protons in the nucleus (the atomic number) determines the chemical element (e.g., hydrogen, oxygen, gold).
- Functionality:
- Protons carry a positive charge, which interacts with electrons to define the atom’s electromagnetic properties.
- They also contribute to the mass of the nucleus.
- Purpose in the Atom: Establishes the intrinsic nature and stability of the atom by determining its elemental characteristics.
2. Active Function: Electrons
- Role: Electrons enable interaction and adaptability by forming bonds and participating in energy transfer.
- Functionality:
- Govern the atom’s behavior in chemical reactions.
- Facilitate bonding with other atoms through covalent, ionic, or metallic bonds.
- Participate in energy absorption and emission processes (e.g., light, heat).
- Active Function in the Atom: Expands possibilities for interaction and connectivity, allowing atoms to form molecules and complex systems.
3. Energy Conservation Function: Neutrons
- Role: Neutrons provide nuclear stability by mitigating the repulsive electromagnetic force between protons in the nucleus.
- Functionality:
- Add mass to the nucleus without adding charge, helping stabilize the atom.
- Prevent instability in larger nuclei where proton-proton repulsion is strong.
- Influence isotopic variations, impacting an atom’s mass and nuclear behavior.
- Energy Conservation in the Atom: Ensures the cohesion and stability of the nucleus, conserving the atom’s intrinsic energy and preventing decay or disintegration.
The Laws of Complementation and Supplementation are Evident in an Atom’s Structure
Protons and Neutrons (Complementary):
Their functionalities are complementary because together they ensure the stability of the nucleus. Protons provide the positive charge, while neutrons neutralize the repulsive forces between protons, binding the nucleus with the strong nuclear force. This complementarity is essential for maintaining the atom’s structural integrity.
Protons and Electrons (Supplementary):
Their functionalities are supplementary because protons and electrons work together to create the atom’s overall identity and interaction with its environment. Protons establish a positive charge that attracts the negatively charged electrons, forming orbitals. This attraction governs the atom’s external interactions, such as bonding and reactivity, while maintaining a balance of forces within the atom.
This dual relationship—complementarity in the nucleus and supplementarity between the nucleus and electrons—defines the atom’s functionality.
The unicist binary actions of atoms
- UBAa) Electromagnetic Force: This force governs the behavior of electrons, enabling interactions between atoms. It expands possibilities by allowing:
- Chemical bonding, which forms molecules and materials.
- Energy exchange, such as absorption and emission of photons.
- Connectivity, enabling atoms to adapt and form complex systems.
- UBAb) Strong Nuclear Force: This force ensures the intrinsic functionality of the nucleus by:
- Binding protons and neutrons, maintaining the atom’s stability.
- Counteracting the repulsive electromagnetic force between protons.
- Enabling nuclear stability, which is necessary for the atom to serve as a functional unit in matter.
The Functionality of an Atom
Atoms are self-sustained systems governed by:
- UBAa) – Electromagnetic Force: Manages the interaction between the nucleus and electrons, maintaining electron orbitals and enabling chemical interactions.
- UBAb) – Strong Nuclear Force: Ensures the stability of the nucleus by binding protons and neutrons.
The functionality of an atom is driven by two forces: Electromagnetic Force, which manages interactions between the nucleus and electrons, maintaining orbitals and enabling chemical bonding, and Strong Nuclear Force, which ensures nuclear stability by binding protons and neutrons, overcoming proton repulsion. Together, these forces sustain the atom’s structure, stability, and capacity for interaction and transformation.
Conclusion
The functionality of atoms demonstrates the unicist ontogenetic logic by illustrating a triadic structure: protons define the purpose, neutrons the energy conservation function, and electrons the active function.
This balance ensures the stability and adaptability of atoms. In living beings, ongoing evolution or involution reflects a disequilibrium similar to changing the balance between protons and electrons.
This model underpins the broader application of the unicist ontology, defining the essential dynamics within any adaptive system, whether natural or artificial.
Evidence II:
The Functionality of Amino Acids
The Unicist Ontology of amino acids allows for understanding their functionality and the possibilities of their integration to build proteins. Their purpose is given by the side chain, which defines the different functions that the amino acids can fulfill.
It has to be considered that the Unicist Ontology emulates the ontogenetic intelligence of nature that was discovered, which defines that there is always a purpose, an active and entropic principle, and an energy conservation principle. The unicist ontology of amino acids is a demonstration of how this intelligence works.
The active function of an amino acid is given by the carboxyl group which establishes a supplementary relationship with the R-group. The energy conservation function is given by the amino group, which establishes a complementary relationship with the R-group.
Amino acids are biologically organic compounds integrated by amine and carboxylic functional groups, driven by a side-chain specific to each amino acid. The key elements of an amino acid are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen, though other elements are found in the side-chains of some amino acids.
Amino acids are the building blocks of peptides and proteins. They are composed of amine and carboxylic acid groups, separated by the alpha-carbon but the side chains on the alpha carbon vary with the acid. They are the subunits of proteins: amino acids make peptide chains, peptide chains make polypeptides, polypeptides make proteins.
Amino acids are the structural units that build proteins. They join together to form short polymer chains called peptides or longer chains called either polypeptides or proteins.
These polymers are linear and unbranched, with each amino acid within the chain attached to two neighboring amino acids.
Evidence III:
The Functionality of the Curing Principles in Medicine
Medicine, as a science, was developed to exert influence on the evolution of individuals to solve involution processes that are a consequence of diseases or that trigger diseases. That is why the essential functionality of “curing/healing” is homologous to the functionality of evolution. This study establishes the necessary structural knowledge and the epistemological framework to empower the development of drugs and therapeutics, following the nature of evolution processes.
The Triadic Functionality of Medicine
Medicine, as a science, is materialized by two curing principles that were discovered by Hippocrates, which are homologous with the principles that regulate evolution. These principles are “similia similibus curentur” (like cures like) and “contraria contrariis curentur” (opposite cures opposite). This defines the triadic functionality of Medicine. This study does not include surgical medicine.
Both principles are materialized in functions. While the principle of “like cures like” works based on the use of external catalysts that provide the necessary energy focused on the need that has to be fulfilled to recover health, on the other hand, the “opposite cures opposite” principle is based on medical objects that are introduced into the system.
Evidence IV:
The Structure of Biological Entities
The unicist ontology of a “biological entity” defines its structure and functionality in an environment.
The genotype defines the genetic structure of the entity that rules its evolution and generates the phenotype of the being.
The objective of the genotype is to ensure the permanence of a species, its reproduction, and its production.
The phenotype defines the morphologic, behavioral, and materialistic characteristics of the entity.
It defines the functional characteristics, the functional power of the entity, and the functional assurance. The functionality defines the effectiveness of the phenotype measured as the consequence of the adaptation of the biological entity to the environment.
Functionality is measured, on the one hand, in the capacity to adapt and grow and, on the other hand, in the capacity to survive.
The understanding of the ontology of “biological entities” helps to follow the laws of nature when dealing with genetic engineering processes and use it to apprehend the nature of beings with “artificial life” such as institutions.
Evidence V:
The Nervous System
The evolution of a given reality, once we know the concept map, starts with a modification of an action.
If we observe the functionality of the human nervous system and we assess it conceptually, we will notice that if the motor system performs dysfunctional actions to the vital function, such as, putting a hand on fire, the sensory system shall have to develop maximum capacity to endure the pain to avoid the situation from destabilizing.
But if the sensory system can no longer compensate for the dysfunctional action performed by the motor system, the withdrawal of the hand from the fire takes place, or a functional alteration in the hand that the man has placed on the fire, therefore it loses the vital functionality. The functionality area of the member disappears and its function becomes “0” (zero).
Evidence VI:
Similarity between Natural and Social Objects
The behavior of human organs and the fallacies of organs is evidence that objects in nature have a similar behavior to objects in social life.
Objects are adaptive systems that generate value in an adaptive environment. They are autonomous interdependent entities that integrate a complex system. An Object generates fallacies to survive when its existence within a living being is endangered.
It is also the case of social roles, which are objects in social or institutional environments. A Fallacy is created when the existence of a social role is endangered to survive.
The paradox is that these fallacies produce a short-term survival of the object, even though the whole system is endangered. But individual survival actions always prevail over collective survival. The behavior of social objects and organic objects is similar.
The case of the “fallacious” behavior of kidneys as objects, will be presented as an example for their behavior in the human body.
The fallacies of organs are either movement or fallacies of “inaction”. They are natural responses when the survival of the object-organ is being threatened by the “system” that pretends to ensure the survival of the organ despite the consequences on the whole body.
Evidence VII:
Unicist Concepts as Stem Cells
The function of stem cells in the human body is homologous to the function of concepts in the field of human actions. While stem cells can give rise to specialized cells and thus organs, essential concepts allow building unicist objects.
These objects are adaptive systems that have a concept and generate added value within a quality assurance system to fulfill the purpose of the concept. They are interdependent entities that integrate a complex adaptive system.
The knowledge of the essential concepts is basic to building unicist objects because these objects are the materialization of a concept.
Under certain conditions, organs can be transplanted and this is also the case of unicist objects that can be replicated as long as they belong to homologous and analogous entities.
Objects are inserted into processes to produce specific results.
Stem cells have the potential capacity to give birth to human organs, as well as concepts can give birth to objects to produce results.
Evidence VIII:
Thinking Processes and the Functionality of Electricity
Direct Current
An electric current that flows continuously in a single direction is called a direct current, or DC.
DC (direct current) is the unidirectional flow or movement of electric charge carriers. The intensity of the current can vary with time, but the general direction of movement stays the same at all times.
The positive end of the battery is always positive relative to the negative end, and the negative end of the battery is always negative in relation to the positive end. This constancy is what pushes the electrons in a single direction.
To transform the voltage of direct current it is necessary to change its nature.
Dualistic Thinking (Logic)
Dualistic thinking is functionally homologous to direct current and is ruled by analogous principles.
This dualistic thinking is based on moving in a single direction to avoid the influences of the environment. It requires using the disjunction “or” to avoid changing the direction of the action.
Dualistic thinking cannot be modified during the process if a change to improve the production of results is necessary. Dualistic thinking is functional to follow operational methods. Without the use of dualistic thinking, operational behavior cannot exist.
Dualistic thinking cannot be transformed into double dialectical thinking. To transform dualistic thinking into double dialectical thinking, it is necessary to change the context. The Unicist reflection process, the process of action-reflection-action, is the context needed to transform a dualistic approach into an integrative, double-dialectical approach.
Alternating Current
In electricity, alternating current (AC) occurs when charge carriers in a conductor or semiconductor reverse their direction of movement periodically.
An AC waveform can be sinusoidal, square, or sawtooth-shaped. Some AC waveforms are irregular or complicated. An example of sine-wave AC is the common household current (in the ideal case).
Square or sawtooth waves are produced by certain types of electronic oscillators, and by a low-end uninterruptible power supply (UPS) when it is operating from its battery. The irregular AC waves are produced by audio amplifiers that deal with analog voice signals and/or music.
The electrons in an AC circuit don’t move along with the current flow. Instead, they “sit” and wiggle back and forth.
They move one direction for 1/60 (for example) of a second, and then turn around and go in the other direction for 1/60 of a second. The net effect is that they don’t go anywhere.
Alternating current can easily be transformed towards higher or lower levels of voltage and can be rectified to be changed into direct current.
Double Dialectical Thinking (Unicist Ontogenetic Logic)
Double dialectical thinking is homologous to the functionality of the alternating current and works analogously.
It is based on the integration of two dualistic pairs, purpose and active function, and purpose and “energy conservation function”, which move back and forth following the cycles defined by the synchronicity with the context.
These cycles have to be unperceivable by the context to work. This is achieved when the cycles are fully synchronic with the environment. In the field of human adaptive systems, the alternation is between expansion and contraction and freedom and security (see anthropological invariables).
Double dialectical thinking can easily be transformed into dualistic thinking to sustain operational actions.
Evidence IX:
The Expansion of the Universe
The structure of unicist concepts allows for defining the structure of the evolution of nature (living beings), of the universe, and of any complex adaptive system or environment. It emulates the functionality, dynamics, and evolution of any adaptive environment whatever its quality.
The structures of the concepts define the positive potential energy that is implicit in the objects that integrate these concepts, which define the energy of the double dialectical actions that can be seen in the expansion of the universe and the gravitational force that sustains this expansion.
These two functions are homologous with the active function and the energy conservation function of the unicist evolutionary approach.
Concepts work as “dark matter/energy”, they cannot be seen, but they can be inferred and measured based on their “consequences/effects”.
Someday, what underlies dark matter/energy will be known, the same way the structures of the concepts of “things” can be found and described using unicist ontological reverse engineering.
This confirmation is nothing new. It just clarifies the universality of the unicist conceptual approach. The management of the Unicist Standard Language gives you access to the management of the functionality, dynamics, and evolution of adaptive environments.
The Unicist Research Institute does not enter the field of cosmology beyond the clarification of the laws of evolution, because we do not have the “capacity” to define or give opinions on the origin of the universe and are exclusively focused on influencing the evolution of adaptive environments and systems.
The consistency with the evolution of the universe is just “proof” of the functionality of the unicist model that describes and defines the unified field of evolution.
